Sonya is part of the Climate Council’s Cities Power Partnership team, Australia’s largest local government program supporting climate action, with over 100 members nationally. Launched in July 2017, the program seeks to accelerate Australia’s transition to a low carbon future by supporting local councils to increase renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport in their local government areas, as well as increasing collaboration around the country.

Sonya is an environmental project management, marketing & communications professional with over 20 years experience in cleantech commercialisation, energy efficiency, climate change awareness, renewable energy development, waste management & recycling across government, not for profit and corporate sectors.

The Climate Council is a not for profit climate change and energy organisation formed 6 years ago via Australia’s biggest crowd-funding campaign. Housing climate and energy experts, communications and media specialists, campaigners and strategists,  the Climate Council has produced over 100 independent research reports on climate impacts and energy solutions.
