The state of electrification in commercial vehicles

Mark Cameron has more than 30 years of experience working in the engineering, industrial equipment and heavy commercial vehicle industry in Australia, Singapore, Tanzania and Sweden. His experience ranges widely from business management, engineering, marketing and customer engagement to university lecturing.

Prior to joining SEA Electric, Mark worked for over 17 years with Scania – a world-leading Swedish manufacturer of trucks, buses and engines for heavy transport applications – Mark held a variety of managerial roles in international markets over 11 years. Most recently he spent 5 years as Country Manager in Singapore leading a local team to focus on sustainable transport solutions for the public and cargo transport needs of the country. Concurrently he was also the Regional Director for Scania South Malaysia and Singapore, where he had strategic and operational responsibility for both markets in the commercial vehicle sector.

Mark has previously sat as Chairman of the Commercial Vehicles Committee for the Singapore European Chamber of Commerce and as Secretary for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce/Business Association of Singapore. He holds an honours degree in engineering from Swinburne University of Technology and a Master in Business Administration from Deakin University.

Abstract Outline:

Mark will outline aspects of the Australian commercial vehicle population, while considering the environmental impact of operations. He will discuss the opportunity for electrification, who SEA Electric are, what they do and the current state of play in relation to the availability of electric trucks and vans in Australia.
