Presentation Topic: An Overview of Projects Which Contribute to Willoughby City Council’s Renewable Energy Target

Abstract:
As part of Willoughby City Council’s Sustainability Action Plan, a performance measure of 20% renewable energy use for Council’s operations by 2020 was adopted in 2012. In order to achieve this goal, a variety of renewable energy initiatives and installations have been carried out by Council, with a further comprehensive program of works to be carried out in the coming years in order to reach a target of 1.2MW by 2020. Andrew will discuss the challenges, constraints and opportunities for developing renewable energy projects in a heavily urbanised and ever-changing environment, using Willoughby City Council’s past, present and future projects as case studies.
