Renewable Cities Australia, 23-24 May, 2018 – Adelaide

Registration is now open for the Renewable Cities Australia (RCA) 2018 forum and exhibition, along with the Electric Vehicle (EV) Workshop, to be held on 23-24 May.

The Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Martin Haese, has been announced as a keynote speaker of the two-day event, which covers in practical detail the plans, achievements and challenges of Australian businesses and cities in moving to renewable energy for electricity and public transport.

Fittingly, the forum and exhibition will be held in low-carbon economy world leader Adelaide, with half-day tours showing the city’s uptake of renewable energy, clean smart technologies and vehicle-charging solutions part of the expo.

Three other speakers at the headline event are:

  • Belinda Kinkead, Director, Australia, LO3 Energy, which pioneered peer-to-peer energy trading in the Brooklyn Microgrid using its blockchain technology, Exergy
  • Tony Fairweather, MD, Sea Electric, presenting on “Why Metropolitan Rigid Trucks Should be Electric” in the “EV’s for Fleets, Business, Industry and Public Transport” session, and
  • Michelle English, Associate Director Sustainability, City of Adelaide, in the Update on Urban Renewable & Carbon Neutral Programs session, talking about “Translating Carbon Neutral Policy into on-the-ground Action”

Mr Haese said, “The City of Adelaide is leading the way with our transition to a low carbon economy by taking charge of our energy future. We are installing solar PV and energy storage in our own facilities and supporting their uptake by business and residents through the Sustainability Incentives Scheme. Since July 2015, the scheme has leveraged over $4 million of investment in the City of Adelaide. For every $1 in rebate approved, the community has invested $9.87 in sustainable technologies.”

The third RCA Forum, along with the Electric Vehicle (EV) Workshop and Exhibition, will again be co-located with the Australian Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition.

Renewable Cities Australia 2018 will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 May 2018.
